Artimud fills shallow gaps in hooves and provides long-lasting protection against damage. It contains naturally active agents that cleanse the area and support the formation of healthy tissue.

Its thick, putty consistency makes it easy to apply and helps it stay firmly in place so the protective agents can work for longer.

Artimud is ideal for protecting shallow white line crevices, frog clefts and external cracks. It is often used under stick-on shoes and pads to keep soles and frogs in healthy condition.

300g Jar

Active Ingredients:

All of the ingredients in Artimud are natural and have been chosen either for their anti-fungal and antibacterial properties or to enhance the consistency of the putty.

  • Green French Clay
An antibacterial clay that gives the putty its unique consistency.
  • Zinc Oxide
A powerful but gentle antibacterial agent that fights bacteria and fungi and supports natural sole and frog regeneration.
  • Honey
Antibacterial and antifungal properties and makes the putty adhesive and pliable.
  • Eucalyptus Oil
A highly effective antifungal and antibacterial essential oil that helps to toughen weakened structures.

How to Apply:

Remove any debris from the area to be packed and dry thoroughly.
Artimud can be smoothed, rolled, squashed, spread and moulded.
Push the putty into the crack and smooth off.
Talc or tissue can be applied to prevent sticking.
Artimud is also ideal for packing on the foot and either side of the frog prior to application of impression material, pads and stick-on shoes.

  • Should I flush the crevice before packing it?
Yes, on first application. Allow it to dry well before Artimud application as this will help the product adhere better.
  • Should I flush the crevice everytime I replace the packing?
Once the crevice has been flushed it will not be necessary to clean it out again if it does not get dirt in it (i.e. if the Artimud is staying in place). Artimud will stick better in a dry crevice.
  • What should I flush it out with?
Flush with a gentle solution e.g. salt water, dilute vinegar etc.
Avoid flushing with iodine, peroxide, etc. as these may damage otherwise healthy tissues.
  • Do you have to remove Artimud and clean crevices daily or does product stay in for certain time?
The length of time the Artimud stays in for varies dependent on specific conditions. Generally if the Artimud is staying well in the crevice then replacement is not necessary. The usual practice is to replace it every few days.
  • Can I use Artimud in an abscess cavity?
Ensure the abscess is drained before packing and initially remove the Artimud twice a day to ensure there is no fluid is build up
  • Can I use Artimud under shoes or pads?
Yes, it ensures that feet stay in good condition when covered.
